Accessibility
This page aims to present our accessibility policy and define the general accessibility level observed on the website, in accordance with the applicable protocols and regulations.
What is digital accessibility ?
Digital accessibility is a set of standards and best practices covering functional, graphic, technical and editorial aspects.
Digital media (websites, mobile applications, PDF files, etc.) must adhere to particular standards and best practices in order to be accessible by people with disabilities.
For example, an accessible website allows users to :
- Customize its display via the operating system and/or browser (enlarge or shrink characters, change typography, modify colors, turn off animations, etc.).
- Browse using assistive technologies such as text-to-speech or Braille.
- Navigate without having to use a mouse, just a keyboard, switches or a touchscreen.
- Watch videos and audio content with subtitles and/or transcriptions.
- And more.
Digital accessibility commitments
TotalEnergies is committed to ensuring that its websites (internet, intranet, and extranet), mobile applications, software packages, and digital street furniture are accessible in accordance with local and international requirements.
To achieve this, it implements the following strategy and actions :
The « renouvelables.totalenergies.fr » website was built using TotalEnergies site factory, which enables the creation of multiple websites based on a shared structure and common components.
To achieve the best possible results, accessibility was taken into account by the teams responsible for functional and graphic design as well as development, throughout the entire creation process of this site factory.
In addition, training on content accessibility was provided to contributors to websites built using this factory. This is complemented by input assistance tools available in the back office, as well as in the contribution guide published by the Webroom teams.

However, for the reasons outlined below, RGAA criterion 8.2 related to this issue has been marked as compliant.
Officially, WCAG criterion 4.1.1 corresponding to RGAA criterion 8.2 has been removed from WCAG 2.2 and should be considered as still satisfied with regard to WCAG 2.1, as well as the European standard EN 301 549.

Improvement approach
In November 2025, an RGAA (version 4.1.2) compliance audit was carried out by Ideance. This audit revealed an overall compliance rate of 50.7% and an average per-page rate of 80.1%.
These results confirm the efforts already undertaken, while highlighting the need for significant improvements to ensure an inclusive experience for all our users.
With this in mind, we are committed to :
- Complying with all RGAA criteria when designing our new websites and web pages;
- Improving the existing pages analyzed by Ideance, as well as all content currently online.
Our objective is clear : to achieve an overall compliance rate of 70% within 12 months, starting from December 2, 2025, in order to provide a fair and inclusive experience for everyone. Once this objective has been reached, we will continue our efforts to go beyond this threshold and strive toward maximum compliance.
