France: TotalEnergies wins 62 MW of ground-based solar projects in latest national solar tender
TotalEnergies has been awarded 62 megawatts (MW) of ground based solar projects in the PPE2 call for tenders issued by the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), strengthening its position as a leader in renewable energies in France.
The nine proposals presented by TotalEnergies were accepted. Spread across the country, they include a 30 MW project to be built near the flexible electricity plant (CCGT) in Bayet, central France. This project is directly in line with TotalEnergies’ strategy, which aims at both the solarization of its own sites and the global development of renewable energy production capacities.
Scheduled to come on stream by late 2024, these solar projects will be operated and maintained by TotalEnergies teams throughout their lifetime.
“TotalEnergies has once again confirmed its commitment to supporting the development of renewable energies in France, where we aim to have 4 GW of production capacity from renewable sources by 2025. TotalEnergies operates in a wide variety of segments, from ground-based solar projects to carports, both in urban areas and on former industrial sites. We’re proud to take part in transforming France’s energy landscape, through our participation in the CRE’s calls for tenders,” said Thierry Muller, CEO of TotalEnergies Renewables France.
